I bought this mic mainly for recording meetings and to do quick recordings when ideas pop into my head. Since it's so compact, I leave it attached to my iPod Touch almost all the time. (I mostly use my phone for music playing, so the headphone jack on the Touch is free.) The sound quality is very good for the price. I decided to give it a try with Skype, using the Skype speakerphone, and it worked great. This is obviously, not something I would do in public, but at home, there was no one to disturb with the speaker. I have a headset with a built in mic that I typically use. For the heck of it, I used it last night at a party to record the band, using a voice memo program, and even that sounded good! It wasn't great, but considering I was in the next room, I was impressed with how well it did.
I don't understand the gripes about the mic. It does what it's supposed to do and then some.

Came out of the package plugged in and it just worked. Biggest problem is finding a place to keep it so I don't lose it. Great product. Delivery was quick as it is small enough to come first class.
