An accessory handset for Uniden's TRU9 series, TRU8 series, CLX series, Elite series, and the UIP18 series phone systems, the TCX905 offers the same excellent range of functions you appreciate in the base. Once the handset is recognized by the system, you can review features like Call Waiting Caller ID, which includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent 10-station speed dial. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. You can transfer incoming calls between each handset and speakerphone on the base, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). A page button lets you quickly locate the handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions. Redial any of the last three called numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent clarity of the 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission.  Good Phone. No surprises. March 15, 2010

I procured this handset to replace an old cordless phone on my desk at work. A coworker already had the base station. Setup was a breeze. I simply let it charge overnight and then placed the handset on the base station. The handset was linked in a matter of seconds and now I have a fully functioning phone that only takes up about 8 square inches on my desk! Caller ID works well. Readout is easily readable. Haven't tried some features like room monitoring (no need for them). The only downside (and it's really no big deal) is that I've noticed a very slight lag in the ring of this phone and the others near me that have their own base stations. Overall, it's a great deal for the money. I would certainly recommend this type of handset for someone wanting to expand their base station.

I decided to add an accessory handset to the phone I purchase a few years back and was cautious that a more recent model would work. This handset met my best hopes in that it was compatible with the older desk-set, had the two line dialing, and synchronized effortlessly. The features are the same as my original handset and the sound quality is satisfactory.

Pretty much the same phone as came with the TCX8500.The phone itself has a little bigger base than original phone, so when I was registering the phone I had to put it on the base without the battery cover.
I left it in the base for 5 seconds- that was enough to register the phone.
It works the same way as other phones, easy to use, plenty of features, see description of the phone for the full list.
Great product - but battery has already died February 21, 2010

The product is a replacement for an older model. Order was filled and delivered in a very timely manner. Before I knew it, it arrived. It was just what I expected and the price was great. However, yesterday the battery went dead. Would not recharge after over 24 hrs in the charger. Luckily, my husband had saved the battery from the old unit.

I love the features of this phone. But like other reviewers have noted, the center button that accesses the stored phonebook and caller id stops working. This has happened with two phones after a little over a year each.
