4 out of 5 stars Web Cam Focus Issue   March 10, 2010
William W. Wheeler (Skowhegan, ME USA)
After getting this product and trying to use it and finding it was very badly out of focus, I started doing more research. I read the reviews in regards to others receiving their cameras and having them out of focus and thought I would have to send this unit back. The unit description advises it is manually focused but I could find no way to adjust it. The focus option was grayed out in all applicatons that I ran. I had tried to turn the lens and found that it would not move easily so I had given up on that initially. After analyzing the unit more closely, it did appear that the lens "should" move and I found that it will turn and manually focus the lens if given enough torque. While there is not a lot of area to place your finger and thumb to turn the lens and it takes considerable amount of force to do so, it can be done. For future purchasers, or for those who gave up and set the unit aside, try again to turn the lens,,, and good luck. It does appear to be a decent little unit with a good quality image and works well with Windows 7.

2 out of 5 stars toy camera   March 3, 2010
Dawn Noland (michigan)
Wish i could give a video of this but trouble is this web cam won't do that. When i got this i thought it was a toy you buy from a bubble gum machine or cracker jack box. It is easy to use no drivers to install but the picture is not good and you cant mover becuase its to slow.

1 out of 5 stars Didn't work (with Mac G4)   March 3, 2010
Nina Thomas (Philadelphia, PA)
I'm quite disappointed that this camera didn't work. The price is great, I wanted a camera that stands on its own rather than clipping to a monitor, and when it came it looked very cute and was nicely weighted to stand solidly upright. But, despite the review from another Mac user that it was plug-and-play, it didn't work at all for me on a G4 computer running OSX. It has a separate connection that splits off near the end with the USB connector that looks like a microphone input, but from what I can tell it would take another $25 gadget to be able to use that input with a G4 (the Griffin iMic). I'm not sure it would help either way, even the USB input alone does not seem to work. I couldn't get my computer or Skype to recognize the camera, and the lights never turned on or gave me any other indication that it was even powering on let alone functional. And, as other reviewers said, there are no instructions. The box itself is labeled "PC Camera," so maybe it is not meant to work for Macs, but I wish the description would say that up front, and that it would not come up in the search I used "webcam with microphone for Mac." Anyway, it's going back.

1 out of 5 stars Not as represented!   February 25, 2010

I loved the looks of this Skype camera when it first arrived on Feb. 13th, but soon found out it had no audio hook=up, so I called CE Compass and told them, and they said, "We'll send you another
with AUDIO" - and it just arrived today, Feb. 25 - the same thing - NO AUDIO hook-up. If you'll look closely at the picture of it, you'll see a tiny branch-off of an audio plug-in. But both Skype cameras that were sent have NO SUCH THING. Jacqueline Comito Dalton. Ohio Feb. 25, 10

2 out of 5 stars Makes a good doorstop   February 25, 2010
Steve Grey (Bahamas)

The thing arrived in a bland box, with no supporting documentation such as a contact name, support website. The camera wont focus correctly, and being in the Bahamas, sending it back would be too expensive. I bought a cheaper one on Ebay which worked fine from the outset. I'd look around and think twice before buying this product.
