Product Description Stay in tune and connected while strolling down the street with the Motorola Motorokr S9 active Bluetooth headphones. Combining ease of use with the latest Bluetooth wireless technology the phones are ideal for Bluetooth-enabled cell phone owners or for iPod owners with compatible adapters. The S9 phones are distinguished by a behind-the-head design that weighs just over an ounce providing the ultimate in comfort whether you're working out or riding mass transit. The phones' ultra-compact 0.51-inch ear buds meanwhile fit softly in the ear even during extended use--a must for long conversations or listening sessions. And users will love the innovative touch-sensitive controls on the sides of the headband. The touch controls let you easily adjust the volume skip or repeat tracks or answer a phone call while on the move. A mobile phone with the Bluetooth Stereo Profile (A2DP) or Bluetooth Adapter for iPod is required for stereo listening.

do not use for working out March 20, 2010 Paul M Affolter (Seattle, WA United States) as many have mentioned on Cnet, there is a major hardware flaw on these headphones. If you work out and moisture from sweating gets into the headset they will cease to function. I had mine for maybe a month, and worked out a little more than a dozen times with these before they broke on me.
The headset isn't the most comfortable, and the phone aspect is a joke.
DO NOT BUY.
Buttons Stop working after time March 17, 2010 T. Bernhardt I have had my S9 for about 2 months now. I love it for the gym. Problem is the up volume button stopped functioning. After doing some online research, this appears to be a relatively wide spread problem and it appears that Motorola has not fixed the problem in the newer S9-HD unit. Same problems being reported. Good headset when the buttons are working properly but I would not buy another one.
MotoRokr is a little "rocky" March 12, 2010 WTRMTR (Chula Vista, CA United States) Pros: I like the fit and feel of this product and the sound is good from a volume and bass quality perspective. The charge seems to last reasonably long. The controls take a little getting used to, but their placement makes logical sense and they are responsive and they give you positive audio confirmation.
Cons: My problems with this product are the way the audio "skips" due to the weak bluetooth signal (or at least that is what it seems to stem from). I have never had a problem with my PC or Blackberry's audio with hard wired earbuds or headphones. The other problem is that the silicone covers are very easily lost and not convenient to replace. The only place I have seen them is a three pack from the Motorola store for about $10 and then five business days for standard shipping, unless you want to pay more to expedite the shipping. I also saw a bulk quantity on eBay from somewhere in Asia.
Good with Exceptions March 10, 2010 Gregory C. Pruitt (Chicago, Illinois) After trying several brands and types of BlueTooth headsets, I finally purchased the Motorola model S9. I really love the form factor of these. They are light weight and most of all not as bulky as many other behind the ear headphones. You may already know that phone calls only come in through the left ear piece. They seem well build, though I am uneasy about stretching them for small amount needed to fit them on my head. I have heard of these things breaking while people are putting them on. There is no way to store these headphones in a tight space like packed luggage. They do not store flat. I use the molded packaging when I transport them in my laptop case to and from work. After about 2 hours, they start to be a little uncomfortable to wear and I find myself adjusting them a lot. It's not the ear buds, it's the part of the frame that presses against the outside of my ear that hurts after awhile. The volume and pause controls are easy to use. Answering the phone took some getting use to. I kept pressing the wrong button, so instead of answering the call, I was ending the call. However, that is not the fault of the product, that was me doing the wrong thing. I was not as happy with the music quality as I hoped I would be with this product. They look better than they sound. There is a model above this one that is supposed to sound much better. I wish I had purchased that model. But I did not want to spend the extra money. To date, these are most expensive Bluetooth headset have purchased.
I am 50/50 as to the wisdom of this purchase. I would give this product 50 out of 100. However, I use these more than the other stereo Bluetooth head sets I own.
Pros:
Great visually.
Work great with iPhone.
Good battery life.
Easy to recharge with any mini USB cable.
Good controls.
Very light weight.
Things like podcasts and phone calls sound great.
Con:
Uncomfortable after long period of use (Maybe that's because I have a wide head).
Cannot fold up for flat storage.
Uneasy about putting them on after hearing of some units breaking.
Music sound quality is not as good as expected.
S9 susceptible to RF March 10, 2010 Brian Fitzpatrick (Toronto) Like the unobtrusive slim design. Pairing process was easy to follow and worked first time with both iPhone and Bluetooth stick connected to PC. Ear buds not that comfortable, but have sensitive ears which are not easily pleased. Found fast forward and rewind controls not working with iPhone but this is an Apple issue. Can control this from phone so a pain but not a deal breaker. Taking and making phone calls works well. Good sound, no static, hiss or pops (unlike the constant static with the S805). 5 meter range indoors without losing audio, but outdoors found the unit very susceptible to RF. Cuts out all the time when walking downtown (unusable in fact)!
