3 out of 5 stars Good with Exceptions   March 10, 2010
Gregory C. Pruitt (Chicago, Illinois)
After trying several brands and types of BlueTooth headsets, I finally purchased the Motorola model S9. I really love the form factor of these. They are light weight and most of all not as bulky as many other behind the ear headphones. You may already know that phone calls only come in through the left ear piece. They seem well build, though I am uneasy about stretching them for small amount needed to fit them on my head. I have heard of these things breaking while people are putting them on. There is no way to store these headphones in a tight space like packed luggage. They do not store flat. I use the molded packaging when I transport them in my laptop case to and from work. After about 2 hours, they start to be a little uncomfortable to wear and I find myself adjusting them a lot. It's not the ear buds, it's the part of the frame that presses against the outside of my ear that hurts after awhile. The volume and pause controls are easy to use. Answering the phone took some getting use to. I kept pressing the wrong button, so instead of answering the call, I was ending the call. However, that is not the fault of the product, that was me doing the wrong thing. I was not as happy with the music quality as I hoped I would be with this product. They look better than they sound. There is a model above this one that is supposed to sound much better. I wish I had purchased that model. But I did not want to spend the extra money. To date, these are most expensive Bluetooth headset have purchased.

I am 50/50 as to the wisdom of this purchase. I would give this product 50 out of 100. However, I use these more than the other stereo Bluetooth head sets I own.

Pros:
Great visually.
Work great with iPhone.
Good battery life.
Easy to recharge with any mini USB cable.
Good controls.
Very light weight.
Things like podcasts and phone calls sound great.

Con:
Uncomfortable after long period of use (Maybe that's because I have a wide head).
Cannot fold up for flat storage.
Uneasy about putting them on after hearing of some units breaking.
Music sound quality is not as good as expected.

2 out of 5 stars S9 susceptible to RF   March 10, 2010
Brian Fitzpatrick (Toronto)
Like the unobtrusive slim design. Pairing process was easy to follow and worked first time with both iPhone and Bluetooth stick connected to PC. Ear buds not that comfortable, but have sensitive ears which are not easily pleased. Found fast forward and rewind controls not working with iPhone but this is an Apple issue. Can control this from phone so a pain but not a deal breaker. Taking and making phone calls works well. Good sound, no static, hiss or pops (unlike the constant static with the S805). 5 meter range indoors without losing audio, but outdoors found the unit very susceptible to RF. Cuts out all the time when walking downtown (unusable in fact)!

3 out of 5 stars Sound Quality   March 4, 2010
Franklin Ibemessie (Sierra Leone)
The headphones are great, and connects without a hitch. Two main problems:

1. Because it hangs on the back of your neck, using it in the gym could be quite uncomfortable. When you bend backwards to lift weights, it really gets uncomfortable, and does get uncomfortable sometimes turning your head left or right, after you have sweated.

2. And this is a real problem: it is not loud enough. It does not shut out outside sound properly. SO if you are in the gym where there is light music and the weights all clanking, you can't hear a thing. Very bad. You'd think the in-ear buds will help, but they do not.

2 out of 5 stars Very poorly made headphones   March 3, 2010
Paul J. Blankenship
These headphones not only don't fit well, they don't block any noise at all. The sound quality is rather low and the durability seriously stinks! I purchased mine back in oct and as of the writing of this review it's the beginning of March. I've already had to replace the ear pieces 3 times because they fall off and just disappear. The right side no longer functions at all and to get this thing to charge is like pulling teeth.

Keep your $50 or whatever in your pocket and look somewhere else. Motorola really dropped the ball with these headphones.

3 out of 5 stars MOTOROKR 59   February 27, 2010
Rodney L. Jensen (Eugene, OR USA)
These Bluetooth headphones are not all they should be.I have made several attempts to connect it to
my Mac laptop without much success to listen to iTunes. All I can seem to draw is a mono signal, which is not acceptable, so no good there.
My iPhone is a somewhat different story, ( Stero Signal ) although when I am listening to iTunes the signal will cut out
for several seconds then come back which is also not acceptable. I haven't made any attempt to use them as a
hand free for my iPhone because they do cut out on me and so I do not trust them. I have a Plantronics Bluetooth I use for that purpose.
My take on this product it is not what I would call a quality product, in fact I would call them a joke.
I also would like to mention that they are not comfortable to wear.
