Good overall August 20, 2010 Kimmiemac I really like this earpiece. My problem is that I feel like it's going to fall out all the time.... No matter which adapter I use. The sound is good and the charger/holder is great. Holds a charge for a long time.
Probably the best bluetooth out there for now. August 12, 2010 DrLee (Ann Arbor, MI) This is a great bluetooth headset. It is incredibly comfortable-sometimes I forget I'm wearing. I can wear it all day long without my ears hurting. It has excellent noise cancellations and I've never had anyone with whom I'm speaking with complain about the quality of my voice. It is easy to set up and it looks great. It is small, light and you can speak freely without worrying about it falling out of your ear. Great advance in bluetooth headsets. I love the fact that the headset cradle acts as another battery charger even when it isn't plugged in. So you can count on doubling your battery life when you are out. All you have to do is sit it in its cradle and the battery power that is stored will charge the headset while you are out. This probably takes about 2 hours or so.
Having that been said, there are definitely some negatives, things that need to be fixed with this product. I've gone through 2-3 of these because there are some problems that do arise and the most common is it loses its ability to charge all of a sudden (two of my headsets were returned for this purpose).
For me the most important feature of a good headset is the quality of sound it produces, the ease with which it pairs with my phone and once it is paired the strength of the pairing, some headsets pair and then out of no where they lose each other and you are back on the phone talking into the phone microphone.
You will not be disappointed with this headset. It could be improved by its robustness but for now compared to what is out there this one is the winner.
Went bad after 6 days May 13, 2010 Larry Wilson (Ga.) I had my platronics 975 for 6 days then it quit powering up. I googled the problem and found many with same problem with no solution. Looks nice but crappie.
Does not stand up to the hype! May 10, 2010 Denny0 (MorrisNJ) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used this for a few months now and feel it is uncomfortable. The ability to hear and be heard is not very good at all, for this price it should be a lot better, it performs like a $20 headset. It will not pair with two devices at once so you have to turn one off to use the other. The battery life is OK but its hard to dock in its box or with the cable. Did I mention the lanyard looks stupid?
Plantronics Good but not Great May 3, 2010 M. Smith (Ohio) I was excited to get my new Plantronics Discovery 975 headset. It was easy to pair with my KRZR-K1 phone, but adjusting the earpiece to fit snugly and comfortably in my ear was more of a challenge. I am still experimenting with different earpieces and adjustments because what seems to be most comfortable for my ear means that the earpiece is not as snug as I'd like. As a result, I find myself pushing the headset into my ear while talking so I can hear more clearly. I am disappointed that I cannot turn up the volume on the headset to compensate for this.
When I hold the headset tightly in my ear, sound quality on my end is excellent. Also, people I talk to say they can hear me fine. However, every now and then, I get a connection accompanied by a clicking noise. I don't use the headset very often and have experienced the clicking a couple of times. That concerns me a bit since the Plantronics 975 is on the pricey side.
If you are looking for a small headset that is light-weight and barely noticeable when you wear it, then the Plantronics Discovery 975 is great. If you work in a noisy environment and need your headset to operate at a high volume for the best clarity, I cannot recommend it.
