Headphones for working out June 23, 2010 Clifford R. Perry III (Chicago, IL) I purchased/returned this headset to use during work-outs but I didn't like the obtrusive long plastic part that was attached a noise cancellation object.
noise cancellation June 20, 2010 Dennis Ellis (O.C. Md.) i purchased at a yard sale, the IT. brand noise cancelling headphones, unfortunately, a co-worker snapped the headbad part, but i managed 2 rig them n a way that i can still wear them. i decided 2 go online & c what other varieties were available. i purchased these (Philips shn5500/37 Noise Cancelling Headphones) because they go around the head, which, because i work at a golf course, i need something 2 drown out the sound of the mowers i operate. these dissapointed me greatly. wasted my money. but what can i do? i own them now.
Awesome Headphones May 10, 2010 Maggie MaGoo great headphones bought this second pair the day i recieved my first pair based on the quality of the headphones, the great service, quick delivery and good price
Not thrilling, but okay. March 15, 2010 20FluidOz (Southern California) Pros:
- Around the head design prevents "headphone hair".
- Okay for casual listening where volume levels are low.
Cons:
- Sound is below par, equivalent to cheapie headphones. Distortion at moderate bass and volume levels.
- Noise canceling is mostly non-existent. It drowns out about 50% of the hum of a loud computer fan. Doesn't noise-cancel anything else.
- The noise canceling "stick" is huge. It measures 5"x0.75" (LxW).
- The ear hooks start to irritate after prolonged use.
Comments: If you're looking for quality sound and noise canceling, move along, these headphones aren't for you. They're okay for casual, at the office-type, low-volume, without the worry of headphone hair listening.
For the price, a nice purchase. March 4, 2010 Charles A. Wojciechowski (Chicago, IL) I bought this when it was closer to $50 at a major retailer. To get it so cheap was great. first one lasted two years. My only gripe is the padding which makes noise while running. But, I can't find a unit like this (noise reducing) that is so compact and able to use during vigorous training.
